Visual Literacy Workshops
The language of the visual world—whether it’s seen inside or outside the galleries—can be a challenge to interpret. The Museum’s new series of workshops aims to use the collection to engage in theories and methods for understanding imagery within art and beyond. The free “learning to look” sessions debut in June. “We’ve had a great response to these classes from many area companies, TMA staff, and volunteers,” said Mike Deetsch, interim Emma Leah Bippus Director of Education. “This is a really thought-provoking, educational experience that we want to offer the public as part of our broader initiative to teach visual literacy.”
